Movin' Groovin'The Japanese Flag.

Movin' Groovin' CD title. Picture of people dancing.

Movin’ Groovin’ started out as a bass riff supported by a few chords and a basic drumbeat. And that’s how it stayed, in my ‘Ideas’ folder, for well over a year. Now, with a more refined riff, new chords, new beat, melody, and jazz piano solo, the piece is finally complete.

The short jazz piano solo was originally recorded just to fill a space while working on other parts of the piece. When I turned my attention to the solo itself, a few days later, I realized, much to my surprise, that the recording I had made fitted quite well. So here, preserved in the final work, is that piano solo, totally off-the-cuff, totally spontaneous – totally jazz!
